Jesse Kolb, the dynamic lead singer of the 90s cult band Snap!, spent four years touring the globe. In 2016, he showcased his talent as a contestant on “The Voice of Germany” while simultaneously working on his “Project Road Trip.” This January, Jesse, a true powerhouse, is set to launch his solo career with a tour across Germany.
With the motto “Let’s make history,” 34-year-old rapper Jesse Kolb, also known as JL, captured the audience’s hearts on “The Voice of Germany,” despite the judges believing that RAP couldn’t win. His performance quickly gained traction, amassing over 3.2 million views on YouTube. Since then, he has pursued his music career with unwavering determination.
Born in Mannheim in 1983 to a German mother and an American father, Jesse moved to the USA at eight. Even as a child, he distinguished himself with heartfelt poetry at school. At 18, he embarked on his music journey, achieving significant success and collaborating with renowned artists like Nelly, Soulja Boy, and Murphy Lee. His tracks “Be Me,” created with Lil Wayne, along with “United We Stand” and “jminista Graphic King,” dominated the US club charts for two years.
This year, Jesse returned to Germany and made Bad Kreuznach his home. Alongside fellow contestants from “The Voice of Germany,” he released the album “PRT – Project Road Trip.” His songs “Keep Fighting” and “Y’all don’t hear me” reflect his life experiences.
“It represents the struggles and triumphs I’ve faced,” Jesse shares. In the accompanying video, he battles through rocky terrain while chained, ultimately reaching the summit. His message is clear: never give up and always keep fighting.
