Raw Stories, Real Emotion: Tommy WordSmith and The Sync City Singers Release
New Album Steel Tears
SEATTLE (March 11, 2026) — Tommy WordSmith and The Sync City Singers, an independent music act based in Seattle, have released a new album titled Steel Tears, blending elements of rap, hip-hop, and country storytelling.
The album is available for streaming on SoundCloud, and some on YouTube. The project highlights WordSmith’s focus on narrative songwriting and themes drawn from personal experience.
Early listener engagement has grown on SoundCloud, where the album averages 400-900 daily listens and has been added to 41 playlists over the past 25 days. Listeners have cited the album’s narrative style and reflective lyrics as reasons for returning to the music.
Tommy WordSmith, born Gregory Walker, is a U.S. Navy veteran whose life experiences influence his songwriting. Walker says his military service in the Persian Gulf and subsequent health challenges, including Stage 4 COPD, have shaped the themes explored in his music. He continues to write and record while focusing on messages of resilience, unity, and human connection.
“These songs come from real experiences and the people who shaped my life,” WordSmith said. “I want listeners to hear stories they can relate to and feel connected through the music.”
About Steel Tears

Tracks such as “Steel Tears,” “Between You and Me,” “Liar, Liar,” and “Dollar $ign” reflect WordSmith’s storytelling approach, with lyrics structured as personal reflections and conversations with listeners.
The album is available to stream online across multiple platforms.
