Born Marcus X. Thomas, Professor MiXT is a spoken word poet and music producer who makes soulful music rooted in Black groove and aesthetic. His music is Electronic GrooveHop mixed with contemporary R&B sensitivities. He describes himself as a musically curious poet who plays the heck out of a computer.

Professor MiXT has multiple credits as a producer and engineer for indie recording artists such as Inobe and engineering credits on the 90’s Hip Hop group Another Bad Creation. He mixed sound for NBC Sports’ Take a Seat: Egypt and Take a Seat Alberta. He has composition placements in indie films Dead Tone (2007), The Open Door (2008), and Jesus’ Secretary (2009).

He serves on the Education Committee for the New York Chapter of the Recording Academy. He was a Governor for the Atlanta Chapter of the Recording Academy and Vice President for the Music and Entertainment Industry Educators Association. Professor MiXT is the Associate Dean for Academic Innovation at The Hartt School of Music, Dance, and Theater.

Professor MiXT Unites Six International Vocalists for Intriguing Dance-Pop Album Arriving August 14

The Lost Art of Groovestramental Boogie is a 13-track collection of high-energy anthems created through three decades of songwriting and a global online collaboration spanning six countries

HARTFORD, CT. – August 14, 2026 – Electronic GrooveHop producer, songwriter, composer, and recording artist Professor MiXT proudly announces the release of his new album The Lost Art of Groovestramental Boogie, available worldwide on all major streaming platforms and in a limited-edition vinyl release beginning August 14, 2026.

The 13-track album represents an extraordinary international collaboration, featuring vocal performances from six Musiversal vocalists based in the United States, England, Bulgaria, South Korea, Portugal, and Malaysia. Although separated by thousands of miles and multiple time zones, the artists came together entirely through online collaboration to create a vibrant, energetic collection of songs with a truly global perspective.

Drawing from songs written over a remarkable 30-year period, Professor MiXT has crafted an album that blends infectious rhythms, memorable melodies, and meaningful lyrical themes. The songs explore a wide emotional and social landscape, touching on love, loss, self-discovery, resistance, and responsible citizenry, while maintaining the uplifting energy and dance-floor appeal that define Professor MiXT’s signature sound.

“This album is the realization of ideas and songs that have evolved throughout much of my creative life,” says Professor MiXT. “Working with talented vocalists from around the world brought new perspectives and energy to each track, proving that great music transcends borders and technology lets us create collaboratively from anywhere.”

Every song on the album was written, composed, produced, and arranged by Professor MiXT. Demonstrating a hands-on approach to the creative process, he also personally mixed all 13 tracks in his project studio using Avid Pro Tools and Solid State Logic software, delivering a polished and powerful sound designed for both streaming audiences and vinyl enthusiasts.

Several songs stand out as defining statements of Professor MiXT’s songwriting vision.

“I Was Supposed to Say Goodbye” tells the story of two unlikely lovers whose lives become intertwined through forces they cannot fully explain. Exploring fate, connection, and the enduring pull between kindred spirits, the song couples an emotional lyrical journey with soaring melodies and an energetic pulse.

“For Such a Time as This (Kayanna’s Song)” draws inspiration from Esther 4:14, transforming a timeless message of courage and purpose into a modern anthem. The track celebrates the idea that individuals are called to rise to pivotal moments in their lives, delivering a message of faith and empowerment against a backdrop of uplifting production.

“Destiny Catches Up” explores the challenge and reward of embracing one’s true calling. Driven by dynamic rhythms and a catchy synth melody, the song reflects on the inevitability of purpose and the transformative power of stepping into the life one was meant to live.

“Striking Distance” channels the album’s spirit of social awareness, confronting injustice and the concentration of power in the hands of a privileged few. Combining urgency with dance-floor energy, the track encourages listeners to recognize their collective strength and take a stand for fairness, accountability, and positive change.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, singer songwriter Carlos Battey, known as Jackie’s Boy,
first fell in love with music at the young age of ten. Early in his career Carlos Battey
(Jackie’s Boy) embarked upon his musical journey by singing on the piers of River
Street in his hometown of Savannah, Georgia. He went on from there to write several
#1 records, received four Grammy nominations, sold over 18 million albums, and won a
Grammy in 2011 for Madonna’s best remix recording “Revolver” featuring Lil Wayne.

Jackie’s Boy credits his Mother as being the source of his love and inspiration for music.
He often sneaked into his Mom’s cassette tapes to listen to some of his biggest
influences such as Michael Jackson, Prince and Fleetwood Mac. He feels these
influences helped formulate his new sound of Progressive Soul, he defines as the sultry
sounds of Rhythm and Blues with a contemporary energy.

Jackie’s Boy underwent a life changing surgery in December of 2016 to remove a tumor
in his bottom right jaw known as Ameloblastoma. He credits his change of path to his
solo singing career when he faced permanent paralysis of his mouth when undergoing
this seven hour surgery.

Jackie’s Boy who has now made a full recovery has focused
his energy on his solo singing career to share with the world his love of music by
releasing several singles that have topped the charts in Germany, Japan, U.S. and
Canada.

Jackie’s boy has now found a new lease on life and wishes to touch the hearts

Everyone remembers the moment when the German national team became world champion in Brazil for the fourth time. The day will be a triumph in German history, and, of course, a very special person, who at first glance has nothing to do with football: Helene Fischer . Why did not she miss this show? The Germans love their football team. And the Germans also love Helene Fischer .

The singer has laid an unprecedented musical career and creates with her songs what hardly anybody creates – she brings together young and old, city and country, men and women, all on one eye. It is the intersection to which all can agree, and in the best sense. “Only with you” is such a piece with great recognition. It is about love and the feeling of having finally found the one that has always been sought. The lyrics ” With you I can be at home no matter where we are ” sums up a longing in words that everyone can understand. “Only with you” sounds poppy and yet does not lose any depth. Similar, but with a bit more tempo, the song “rollercoaster” works . Helene Fischer gives German-speaking music a modern garb, which has only little to do with the original concept of Schlager. This makes her as an artist so exciting and also a bit unpredictable.

Anyone who is now afraid that Helen Fischer broke with her eighth album to completely new shores, can breathe a sigh of relief. No, she remains faithful; But also shows that she moves safely in every genre. “Your look” has unmistakable country references. “With every heart beat” is a classic piano piece in the singer / songwriter style. “Viva La Vida” has summer hit qualities, “We break the silence” the potential of a fulminant stadium anthem. “Sun on the Skin” is an astringent pop that forces you unconditionally to hear this song in the car when the window is cranked down. According to!
A real surprise is “Herzbeben” , because with this song, it dares to be uncharted. Electric elements and Schlager? Is that possible? Oh yes, that goes! Beat and bass jump into the blood, you want to get up and dance instantly. “Heartquake” caught a mildly unprepared. One wonders at once: Is that really Helene Fischer? And at the same time, it is perfectly clear that only one can sound like this.
But also quiet tones find their place on this record. “You made me strong” encourages to stop, to look back. With song lines like ” When the air burns here, then I stop you ” from “Aviator” fulfills her longings and builds emotional thought-locks. A very special pearl is “Adieu” , reminiscent of old Parisian chansons. Helene Fischer once again shows a high degree of empathy with her song selection: Only those who are willing to feel deeply can get into others, understand them. The musician Helene Fischer understands her fans, can put herself into many living situations and draw from it creativity. The man Helene Fischer shows with this album: I am one of you, the first among equals. And that is why it is so popular, so successful and certainly with these songs an anchor for millions of listeners

 

 

At only 16 years old, she is the youngest singer ever to record with pop sensation Sean Kingston, with her single, First Kiss. She recently released her single, You Gave Me love on YouTube & ITunes. She has done endorsement work for Uber, Blenders Eyewear, JewelMint and Samsung. She has performed with and has been a supporting act for many national concerts, including The OMG Girlz, Aaron Carter, Austin Mahone, Frank Musik, Radio Disney, Alex G., Rick Springfield and recently toured with boy band Before You Exit. She plays piano, organ, and keytar and don’t forget she as a beautiful voice!

Since performing on the show, she is still performing and doing weekly YouTube videos every Monday. Plus she has toured with Flo Rida, and even singing along with him on some of his songs, including Wild Ones.

 

Kurt Hugo Schneider

Kurt Hugo Schneider is a composer, music producer, and director. Most of his work is on his YouTube channel http://youtube.com/KurtHugoSchneider, created in October 2007, now with over 3MM subscribers and over 600MM views.

Kurt was born in Baltimore in 1988 and grew up in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He become involved in musical theater in high school and quickly developed a love of music and performance. He majored in mathematics in college, while developing his musical and technical abilities by creating content for his YouTube channel. In 2009, he created the production company NoodleHouse Studios. In 2011 he moved to Los Angeles, where he lives and works–composing, producing , performing, and directing.

Also, I love to experience a great performance–so much so that I want to create my own productions. I love to play with all those elements that go into making something wonderful for me–great music and great visuals. I love to collaborate with my team of musicians and artists to make it all come together as if it were the most natural and easy thing to do in the world. I go for the magic.
