OLD SKOOL “QUEENE” is at it again!

She is a Poet and Songwriter that has written songs in the past for others. QueenE acquired her talent from her late R&B/Gospel Bass Singer Father who once sung with DC’s Doo Wop group called Glow Tones and her Gospel Singer Mother who sung and traveled around with a professional D.C. Gospel Choir called Jubilee Majestic directed by Kirdell Minor. And it is the very reason why she took her then 88 year old mother into the studio with her to cut the first track called “Victory Is Mine” to open and be the first song on her first album that adds the Gospel genre.

QueenE discovered iTunes in 2013 and appreciates ITunes for allowing her to self-publish and distribute through her Independent Small Promotion Business This Is 4 U; and she has released her second album, called Here Comes Old School November 2018.  This new Album includes a mix genre of music that has some tracks already released ahead  it as a Single namely Shut My Mouth, Dark Chocolaty, Here Comes Old School, Pt. 1 and LaLaLa, The Look.

QueenE is seeking to promote, highlight and bring positive messages of love and camaraderie with music with the added Go-Go flavored beats from the East Coast. She wants to shine the spotlight on the Washington D.C. area to show that there is talent here that has been brewing since the early days in the late 1970s when she was a teenager screaming for Stacey Lattisaw, Chuck Brown and Marvin Gaye, Blackbirds, Johnny Gill and Back Yard Band to name a few.

QueenE got the 411 for other genres such as this hip-hop Rap single she released a few years ago called “It’s All About Money” where she created a YouTube video to point to Donald Sterling’s excuse for Dementia. And her first solo album includes a couple of Holiday song tracks for Valentine Day and for Thanksgiving.

You can find her music at any Digital store to get downloads of any of her Singles and new Album called “HERE COMES OLD SCHOOL” and her new Christmas Singles called CHRISTMAS CHEER and Ho Ho Ho Christmas that includes Apple & Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, Xbox, etc

BIG DADDY WILSON” “I met the blues here in Germany”

Big Daddy Wilson was born more than 50 years ago in a small town called Edenton, North Carolina. The population of Edenton counts less than 6000,  55% African Americans, 25% below the poverty line. “We were very poor but I had a very beautiful childhood“, Wilson remembers. “Me and my sisters were raised by Mom and Grandma. We lived a simple life, we went to church every Sunday, school on weekdays. I also worked back then on the tobacco plantation and in the cotton fields, I was a real country boy.“ Wilson sang in church but he never thought about going on stage. “I was extremely shy.“ His guardians meant well for the fatherless boy and they often sent him to church also during the week. “That won´t hurt him, keeps little Wilson away from drugs and off the streets.“

Young Wilson quit school at 16, and sometime later joined the US Army. Being a poor black man in the south and living in a small town, jobs were scarce. After being stations in  Germany, the young man became homesick. “I found out the quickest way to go back home was to see that you got married. They’ll allow you a vacation time about two weeks to go home to get married. Wilson convinced his officers of his impending wedding and returned Stateside, refusing to return to Germany. After six weeks his mom was so worried that she begged him to go back to the military. “And so I was back in Germany.“

A few years later Wilson met a German girl who became his wife. She is the reason for him staying and also the reason for a poem which became Wilson´s first song.

And then Wilson heard the blues for the first time. Back in Edenton he had listened to music only in church and from the local, country radio station. But now he went for the first time to a real blues concert. “I met the blues here in Germany. I didn’t know what the blues was before“ Big Daddy Wilson says. “It was here that I found a part of me that was missing for so long in my life.“ It did not take long and the shy guy who had written some poems started looking for melodies. He went on stage, jammed all over the German blues scene and made an impression with  his warm and soulful voice. He began touring with bands and as a duo and even released a few records. “My sister came all the way to see me perform and she couldn’t believe it. No, that’s not my brother. It seems like all my shyness was gone – thanks to my music. “

Champion Jack Dupree, Louisiana Red, Eddie Boyd… many musicians who made Europe their home and brought the blues with them succeeded here better than in the U.S. Even Luther Allison lived in Europe for 14 years before his big break.
And now there´s Big Daddy Wilson, an American singer and songwriter who found his home in northern Germany. But something is different regarding Big Daddy Wilson. When he came over from the U.S. there was no blues in his baggage. He initially discovered the blues here in Germany which is where he will begin his international career.

With his international solo debut on RUF Records Big Daddy Wilson is going to take one step further in his late career as a musician. For “Love Is The Key“ he recorded his own songs exclusively with a small band; taking it back to the roots, often reduced to acoustic instruments, but always full of soul. You can listen to his very first song here,“ Anna“  the song about his wife. Gospel is the foundation for “Keep Your Faith In Jah“, but this doesn’t keep the songwriter Wilson from praising the talents of a gypsy queen from New Orleans, “Jazzy Rose“. In “Hard Days Work“, Big Daddy uses monotone drones for hypnotic effects on the listener, while breezy off beats Jamaica-style let “Dreaming“ to swing along. Autobiographic aspects can be found elsewhere: “Ain´t No Slave“reminds us of the African-American history and at the same time makes us aware of Wilson’s grown confidence. His good friend Eric Bibb guests on two songs about Wilson’s roots ,”Country Boy” , “Walk A Mile In My Shoes”. He’s very proud of Bibb´s presence because “I’ve learnt so much from him,” says Wilson.

The fruits of this learning can be tasted on Big Daddy’s imminent European Tour. Does he dare to imagine that he could take this music all the way back to his roots in North Carolina?

“That’s a dream, but one that makes me nervous“ the Father of three laughs; it’s clear that his homesickness is gone – along with his shyness.

“Lost in Paradis” is a Must Listen

Lost in Paradise talks about how we human beings wish to reap without sowing. We want to have all the riches that life has to offer but we dont
want to put in the work it takes to acquire such riches.

The riches she talks about is not only money. It can be the respect or love from other human beings. We simply want respect or love without doing the basics which it takes to get such feeling from other humans.

We are lost in our own paradise. This dream world where everything works like magic. But the reality is quite different.
One can tell that Tanja Carol sings from experience and her music comes from her soul. She is a singer/ songwriter from Switzerland who was born into a very music-loving family.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaqhmV9F7VY

Tanja believes that music is the language of the soul, a universal communication tool which she uses very well to send her point across to other humans. November 2021 is when She started in the music business with the song “Lost In Paradise.”

Check Out Briya Jordan’s New Single Entitled “In Your Shoes”

“You hooked up with some dude you met on the Gram then he flew you out guess you like older men” is part of the lyrics in the new single from Briya

“You hooked up with some dude you met on the Gram then he flew you out guess you like older men”

is part of the lyrics in the new single from Briya Jordan.

Briya will have you thinking really deep after you listen to her track titled “In Your Shoes“. She puts herself in someone elses shoes in other to see their pain as well as their views regarding their situation.

The song is saying: Rather than judge people try to see things from their perspective and your point of view will definitely change. You may not feel their pain but atleast you will see things from a different angle which will help to make you understand them better.

This R & B track is definitely worth listening to. I give it a two thumbs up for lyrics and beats. Briya did a good job with both the lyrics and the beats to this track.
You can almost feel Briya’s old soul in this track even though she is quite young. Her voice will have you feeling the pain of others and also have you regreting any bad thing you have done to others as well.

Briya has always been the oddball who was picked on and laughed at in school. But she has learned to cope with this situation through her spiritual awakening and awareness. You can definitely hear it and feel it in her music. Her experience allows her to pour out her pain and sorrow in every song she drops.
Hopefully, anyone else going through this similar situation can use her music as a healing tool.
