EDM Master “Sonic Radiation” Releases New Track Entitled “Infrared”

Texas based artist, Todd Last, who goes by the artist name of  “Sonic Radiation” worked to create music that arranges songs with a combination of techno and trance that are solid and unique. Inspired by industrial groups like “Front 242” and “Front Line Assembly”, electronic groups like The Crystal Method and Astral Projection, as well as the Dallas club scene, Sonic Radiation pulls from those styles to give the listener something for the ear, the mind and the dance floor. “Infrared” is his latest track and we got a chance to talk one on one with him.

How did you get into music?
Hello! Thank you so much for the interview. Music and sci-fi always excited me as a youngster. When I got older, I discovered electronic music and wanted to make some too.

What was the writing/creative and recording process for the track like?
It takes me a long time to make a track. I try to stay focused and get it the best I can. I think it’s fun and interesting.

How’d it differ from your previous single?
I think all my songs try to grab you by the ear. I hope each one takes you on a different journey through time and space. Each track really reflects my skill level and life at the time. I release each song when it’s finished and I hope over time that will be interesting.

How supportive is the Dallas music scene in furthering your career (e.g. radio stations, magazine, venues)?
Actually, I haven’t reached out to my local area like I should have. Unfortunately, Dallas isn’t really an electronic music hotspot.

You’ve been creating music for over a decade now. What all has changed in the local scene? The overall EDM / electronic genre?
Unfortunately, I think the Dallas EDM scene is so underground that no one knows about it. If anyone knows where the door is, please let me know. I’d love to be a part of it!

What does your recording set up look like (what do you use to record, what are your favorite tools)?
Interestingly, my hardware setup is super simple yet very powerful. Today’s software technology is incredibly advanced. I’ve owned and used a lot of outboard gear in the past, it was good but I couldn’t get the sounds I wanted. Now, I try to keep my gear stack simple and try to unleash the 1’s and 0’s. That works well for me.

Which artists are the greatest influences for you and your music?
I’m a huge fan of Star Wars and sci-fi movies. Also, great bands like Rush, Depeche Mode and many others.

Is there a dream lineup of performers that you would like to perform with if given the chance?
Fun question… I’d love to get Mozart, Enya, Front 242 and R2-D2 on a space station together and see what we come up with.

Which sort of social media websites have you had the best successes with?
I try to stay up-to-date with social media the best I can. I’m signed on with a good many of them. I’m not as social as I’d like to be but I’ll try harder in the future.

What about these online services are different from the traditional face to face meeting and performances that musicians utilize?
The interweb has definitely given us all the opportunity to be closer in some ways and maybe less in others.

What made Todd Last aka Sonic Radiation start producing?
When I first heard electronic music in college, I was blown away! It was so different and unique from anything I’d heard before. I was hooked and had to make my own. It took a longtime and I’m thrilled to be able to now.

Your music is rather distinctive, how did you come to hone such a unique sound?
My style must come from what I like in music and movies. I’m a huge fan of Star Wars and sci-fi movies. Also, great bands like Rush, Depeche Mode and many others really got my attention. I think my style kind of happens by making a sound that takes the best of what I like and enjoy in what I see and hear as a fan.

Could you tell us a little more about the production process you take when producing?
My thinking is always to try and make a sound that I like. After I got it the best I can, I can’t wait to share it with hopes that others will enjoy it in whatever way they like to listen to music and maybe, be an escape for them.

Describe your music in 3 words?
Space Age EDM

What inspires you when making music?
I’ve truly loved music all my life and I love being a part of the world of electronic music. Trying to make the best song I can is always my interest and task at hand. Contributing to the genre of electronic music is something that I enjoy and is important for me.

Your music has a very heavy sci-fi edge to it, both melodically and aesthetically, does this represent you and your thoughts on extraterrestrial life?
Take me to your leader! haha… I visited Roswell once, they really get the best of their UNK N 469 close encounter! I think my music is more influenced by the vastness of space and the smallness of within and the electronic music in-between. Traveling through the galaxy far, far away always brings me a new hope.

Tell us something about yourself no one knows?
I like to imagine I can get away from it all on my space station and enjoy my great view of Planet Earth. It’s so quiet and peaceful out there.

What’s next for Sonic Radiation?
Thanks again for the great interview. I really enjoyed it! My mind, body and soul are itching’ to start my next track. Each one takes a long time so I better get to it. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy “Infrared” in your Space!

As a veteran writer / producer/ lyricist, I have been very busy finalising the last songs for my upcoming compilation album, titled Deltiimo “One Time”.

It’s a pop dance album and it’s a compilation of my best songs from Deltiimo (me) over the last two years plus several new songs.

I have collaborated with some wonderful musicians & co-writers from around the world (even a Grammy award winning musician on one song).

But the final song I recorded actually features two of my Granddaughters. It’s titled Deltiimo & The Grandkids Buzzy Bess Are Everywhere.

The lyrics were written by myself with some help from my two Granddaughters, Ellie & Lana and the music produced by Bradon Grobler from Holland.

After putting it up on you tube just a few days ago, we had so many people liking the song. we had to create a sing along lyric video with really nice graphics.

Could this bee the next Bay Shark”? Excuse the Bee Pun. Wishful thinking.

Q: Who wrote it and what was the inspiration behind it.
Deltiimo & The Kids Buzzy Bees are Everywhere lyrics were written by myself with some help from my two Granddaughters, Ellie & Lana and the music produced by Bradon Grobler from Holland.

I originaly came up with the idea of Buzzy Bees Are Everywhere as a sing along song for my grandkids to perform, but I must admist it’s very catchy. I have a lot of experiece with lyrics and vocals so I had great fun producing the vocals for the song.

Q: If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?

Calvin Harris

Meet The German Country Singer Known as Rob Georg

Throughout his life, music has been Rob’s constant companion, comforting him in gloomy times and inspiring him in happy times. For Rob, there is no better way to express feelings than singing accompanied by his guitar. Growing up with horses, Rob’s professional path led him first into equine sports, especially into Cutting, a discipline of western riding, which is ridden on horses working cattle. For the past 10 years, he has successfully showed Cutting Horses in Europe and the USA and was on the board of the National Cutting Horse Association of Germany for 6 years, most of this time as president.

Influenced by the cowboy lifestyle, country music owns a big part of his musical passion. In various performances at family and friends events, This German Cowboy was always told, to do more with music in his life.
As a result, the desire to record 2 self-written songs in Nashville one day got priority on his bucketlist. Rob fulfilled himself this wish in March 2018. He had not hoped to come back to Germany with more than an office-burned CD with his 2 own songs on it for his CD shelf at home.

However, his vocal coach and recording studio, Kristin K. Smith, saw things differently and as the song was recorded, she gave him advice to publish the song in different ways and to give music a new status in future.
“Time For Some Ink” , which dropped on June 7, 2019 is his latest song and reviewers are calling it the New Tattoo Lovers Anthem.

According to Rob “You love them or you hate them! Tattoos! I myself am one of those fans of that special body art and I find beautiful engraved artwork attractive and just beautiful”.
At the age of just 28, I got my first, long-awaited tattoo and since then I have been “under the needle” of my favorite artist Roman Melon from Ludwigsburg on a regular basis
Each of my tattoos has it’s meaning and, like my songs, tells stories from my life. I think that is the key to happiness in tattoo-art, not to go with a trend.

Sure, there are and have been people in my family and among my friends who do not like tattos at all and who worry about how the tattoo might look like in a few years, what damage the tattoo ink might do to your body or that a tattoo is something for eternity and they would not want to decide for a picture on there body for that long time.

Luckily, today there is the laser technique for removing tattoos. No, let’s put the jokes aside, I have a lot of tattoos now and do not regret one of them. Not even after 15 years. But, every one of my motives was good, no, very well considered.

Everyone should decide whether or not he or she may have decorated his or her skin with ink or not in the end. I think both decisions are fine and think prejudice against one or the other group completely superfluous and not helpful. They are part of my life for me, like the animals and the music!

Grammy Awards Winning 285-Voice Choir Of Brooklyn TABERNACLE

The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir is directed by Carol Cymbala, the wife of Senior Pastor Jim Cymbala and the daughter of the church founder, the late Rev. Clair Hutchins. Although the Choir is composed of vocally untrained church members, it has been used by the Lord to present the love of God all over the world. The 285-voice choir has recorded three videos, three DVDs, and numerous albums, winning six Grammy Awards. “The choir represents all different walks of life and every kind of sin,” Pastor Cymbala says. “You name it and we have someone who has been saved out of it, standing next to another one who has grown up in the church.”

In the early 1980’s, Carol Cymbala decided to “make a little tape for the church,” and when she had trouble finding enough appropriate songs, she began writing them. Although she cannot read or write music, the Lord has given her a special gift to direct and create from the heart through the power of the Holy Spirit. After 25 years of recording and live performances, the Lord continues to use the Choir to carry the message of the Gospel around the world.

It is a highly unlikely ensemble, a mixture of ethnic and economic backgrounds, in the heart of a city synonymous with coldness and decay. The choir is made up of attorneys and street people, nurses and ex-crack addicts, a unique cross section of humanity. Pastor Cymbala explains: “None of us would have met if it weren’t for Christ. Our backgrounds are just too diverse. But all of us have one thing in common: we have all been lifted up and saved. So the Choir sings-not about a theological position-but about what has happened to them. It’s not a theory; it’s a reality.”

Starting each practice with prayer reinforces that principle. Even the rehearsal prior to the Sunday services are all closed in prayer as the choir asks the Lord to bless their music and anoint their songs for the service. “The great evangelist D.L. Moody found that the tender strains of the Gospel could open people’s hearts to the music of the soul,” Pastor Cymbala says, “and I find that the choir greatly facilitates the ministry that goes on here. In their own uniquely sincere and almost vulnerable way, some by not being trained singers, while others are coming from totally non-religious backgrounds, they are able to display an openness, a transparent ‘heartfeltness’ that opens up and triggers the same thing in other people.”

The Choir’s latest album project is entitled “Declare Your Name”. Their concert venues in New York City have included Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, the Paramount Theater, and a sold-out performance at the Madison Square Garden Theater. “I just want to see people drawn to Jesus Christ,” Carol Cymbala says, “I want the music to be the arrow that points them to Him.”

Q: Tell us about your latest track or Video ( what is it all about)–Please explain the concept or message
Well, I was actually going through a really bad breakup on the summer of 2018. Every song that I tried to write came across as really depressing and this is something that I didn’t like. I don’t want my songs to bring people down. Maybe feel a nostalgia. But thats about it. So, my upcoming single “YOU”, is talking about that breakup in a less “depressive” and more neutral way and also about how I felt that If I couldn’t bare the pain when a relationship is over, then its better of to stay alone. Again. Not a life tip, just how I felt that specific period in my life. Its coming out with a video clip on Friday June 14. I gave the song to a friend of mine to make the music video. Its safe to say that I have NO clue on what’s the video about. I just said to him: “Do what comes out natural while hearing the song”. “I trust you”. So I guess we will find out together.

Q: Who wrote it and what was the inspiration behind it
I wrote and produced the whole thing by myself.
The inspiration behind it was just a silly summer love. (What I explained above)

Q: If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?
Thats a tough one, but I would say Ben Schneider from the band Lord Huron.
