Q: Can you please tell our readers your real names? What is the meaning behind your stage name ONEDUO?
A: Mike Scimeca & Steve Georgilis! ONEDUO is a representation of two individuals coming together as a duo uniting people together as one through music. We feel that music is a gateway to so many incredible feelings in addition to the many personal relationships that are built and strengthened through it. That’s what we strive to achieve with our music 🙂

Q: Where are you from and Where were you based?
A: We are from New York & both still live here! New York Souls.

Q: At What age did you start making music?
A: Mike: I started at a young age, I got my first guitar when I was 5 and have been obsessed ever since.

Steve: I grew up playing the cello until I was 17, but I actually started music production when we started ONEDUO a little over six years ago.

Q: What genre of music do you love? and what genre would you consider yourself?
A: Mike: I have a love for almost every genre, it really depends on my mood! I think I’d consider us Dance pop/ Future Bass! – But also, I don’t like to identify with any genre because then you’re sort of stuck in a box, I like to freely create and just see what comes out of it.

Steve: I’m always listening to different genres of music to take particular elements into our own music, but of course dance music is my passion! Like Mike said before, it’s hard to narrow your music down to a specific genre but if I had to pinpoint one I’d say for sure Dance pop/ Future Bass!

Q: Tell us about your latest track “Cross My Heart” (what is it all about)—-Please explain the concept or message behind it:

A: This record means so much to us. It’s about falling in love and not knowing how to act, ruining something before it even had the chance to flourish because you’re not wise enough to understand what you have. But also understanding the fact that even though you may still think of that person and always have love for them, it’s not where either of you belong. At least in this life time..

Q: Who wrote it? Do you guys write and produce your own music?
A:. We wrote it along with Ria Lucia! – We write and produce all of our stuff ourselves, as we feel it has more of a meaning when it’s coming from us. We’re able to get more attached on a mental and emotional level.

Q: Whats next for ONEDUO?
A: So much stuff coming. We just released our new symbol on Jan. 1st, going to be releasing some new merch with it! Along with a LOT of new music, and a lot of new tunes with Mike’s vocal on it!

Q: We love your Chainsmokers remix, do you guys plan on doing more remixes in 2019?
A: Thank you, and yes! We love doing remixes. It’s always fun to put your own twist on records that you can identify with! A lot of new remixes coming for 2019!

Q: If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to work with?
A: Mike: Avril Lavigne! Shes always my go to answer for this question, she was my childhood crush haha and I’ve always loved her music!

Steve: Honestly I’d love to work with Ariana Grande, I think she’s such a beautiful soul and she’s super talented!

“Chrys no i” (Pronounced Chris know eye) who hails from Philadelphia is a highly talented hip- hop/R& B artist. He started making music at the age of 15, but has basically listened to music all through his years, after picking up interest through his mum, as she used to sing and write music, thus, horning his skills.

His latest work “Dream of” talks about loving a girl who in turn does not necessarily reciprocate the love by being in love with someone else which is succinctly captured by the lines “everyone’s eyes on you, I wanna be your world, let’s go round the world, you are my type, I wanna be with you”.

But the appeal falls on deaf ears as captured by the closing statement “I guess this is not the life that she dreamed of”.

The video was directed by Tristan Seyek and featured Julie Reyes as Valentina who was his love interest in the song and Ian Bratwit as Larry (Valentina’s lover).
We got a chance to do a one on one exclusive interview with  Chrys and here is what he had to say below:

Q: Where are you from and where are you based?
A: I am from and based in Philadelphia, PA, USA

Q: At What age did you start making music?
A: I started making music at age 15, but I’ve been around music since I was a baby because my mom used to sing and write songs.

Q: What genre of music do you love? Or what genre would you consider yourself? (e.g- Rock? Blues? Hip-Hop? RnB?) 
A: I love all genres of music, from hip-hop/rap/trap and R&B, to Urban Latin, to dance/pop and alternative music. However, my music is more hip-hop/R&B with slight trap & pop influences.

Q: Tell us about your latest track or Video ( what is it all about)—–Please explain the concept or message behind it: 
A: In short, “Dream Of” is about having a crush on someone who is already in a relationship with a loser (hahaha), and just professing your love or interest to that potential lover.

Q: Who wrote it? 
A:. I wrote and produced the song. I made & sequenced the beat within an hour. I then wrote the hook in 10 minutes while eating dinner (inspiration and creativity really hit me at random times). Eventually, I finished writing the entire song.

Q: What inspired you to write this new track
A: We all know someone who is in a relationship with a scrub. I actually know a few people whom are in that situation, and after I made the beat, the hook came out of now where, And the rest is history.

Q: Where do you get your musical inspiration?
A: General inspiration just comes to me, to be honest. As a record producer, I’m inspired by Quincy Jones, Dr. Dre, Diddy, Swiss Beatz, The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams & Chad Hugo), Timbaland and Danjahandz. As an artist/songwriter, I’m inspired by Michael Jackson, Kanye West, The-Dream, Frank Ocean, Jhene Aiko, and Drake.

Q: If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?
A: I’d love to perform with Bad Bunny.

Carmen Esther Chidinma Kazan, also known as Carmen Amaka, was born on the 11 of February 1991 in Köln Germany
1997,Carmen started playing piano as her first musical instrument.
2001, she also learned to play the transverse flute and performed at various dance competitions.
2003, Carmen joined the church choir because her only desire was singing.
After graduating from secondary school, she finished her studies at a business college as a foreign language correspondent. Carmen Amaka speaks up to 6 languages.
Before pursuing her own music career, she used to work in as background vocalist with various upcoming German artists on their live shows and in music studio projects, for 10 years.
Her last project was co-writing and singing background vocals for Izzy Amuw’s EP „Take Over“. In this EP she also featured the songs „Go Hard“ & „ All My Lady’s“.
Carmen Amaka sings in English and Igbo. She just released a music video to a cover of Tekno’s song „Be“. Currently she is working on her debuting EP.

Mary Nantayiro is a Ugandan singer living in Denmark. Mary was born and raised in Uganda, and moved to Denmark as a 13 year old. She debuted with her very first Ep: “Mary Nantayiro” in 2016 with the hit single “Live your life”.

Performances and showcases .

Mary has since performed live at different occasions in Denmark, fx. at Uganda’s independence celebrations both in 2016 & 2017, At the welcoming party of Uganda’s Prime minister (Katikkiro) in may 2016, and at several clubs/festivals as well.

Mary’s music is melodious modern popmusic with inspiration from her African background. Q: Who wrote it?
A:. I produced the song and wrote the hook, bridge, and 3rd verse. I recruited to fellow Christian rappers Darnell Parks (1st Verse) and Kris “KDUB” Williams (2nd verse), who then wrote their verses based off of the things I wanted them to bring out.

Q: What inspired you to write this new track?
A: My experience in the blackHebrew Israelite movement, the countless conversations I have been having with those that feel stuck in the movement and those that have come out and experienced even worser things than I did inspired me to write this song and produce a music video and documentary around it.

Q: Where do you get your musical inspiration?
A: I draw inspiration from many musicians and different artists with unique styles and writing styles like The Temptations, The Whispers, Rodney Jerkins, Warryn Campbell, Ryan Leslie, Teddy Riley, R Kelly, and my own experiences just to name a few.
